7Up Cherry Dump Cake
A quick and satisfying dessert bursting with cherry flavor, perfect for any gathering or family dinner.
Ingredients
For the cake
- 2 cans 2 (21 oz) cans cherry pie filling Choose a high-quality filling for best flavor.
- 1 box 1 (15.25 oz) box yellow cake mix Rich and tender, complements the cherries well.
- 2 cups 2 cups 7-Up lemon-lime soda Adds a unique twist and lightness to the cake.
Instructions
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and spray a 9x13 inch baking dish with nonstick spray.
- Add 1 1/2 cans of cherry pie filling to the bottom of the dish, spreading it evenly.
- Sprinkle the yellow cake mix evenly over the top of the cherry pie filling without mixing.
- Gently pour the 7-Up over the cake mix, allowing it to fizz.
- Using a spoon, gently swirl the cake mix and 7-Up to cover the mix without fully mixing.
- Dollop the remaining cherry pie filling on top, allowing those cherries to peek through.
Baking
- Bake for about 60 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
Serve warm or cool, with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Avoid overmixing and ensure to use enough nonstick spray to prevent sticking.
