Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat.
  • Add chopped onion, green bell pepper, and minced garlic; sauté until vegetables are softened.
  • Season with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning; stir to combine.
  • Pour in the tomato sauce and diced tomatoes; simmer for 10 minutes.
  • In a separate bowl, combine cooked pasta, cream cheese, sour cream, 1 cup mozzarella, and grated Parmesan cheese.
  • Spread half of the creamy pasta mixture in a 9x13 inch baking dish. Layer half the beef mixture on top.
  • Repeat the layers with the remaining pasta and beef mixture. Top with remaining mozzarella.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
  • Let stand for a few minutes before serving.
