  • 1 lb ground beef juicy and flavorful, the star protein

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt enhances flavors

  • 1 teaspoon paprika brings smokiness
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning evokes classic Italian cuisine
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder intensifies the savory profile
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes offering a kick
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic infuses a savory aroma
  • 1 cup marinara sauce tangy and rich
  • 1/4 cup chopped pepperoni adds classic pizza flavor

For the crust

  • 1/2 cup Bisquick baking mix creates a fluffy texture
  • 2 large eggs provides structure
  • 3/4 cup milk ensures a smooth batter
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese gooey and melty

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until the beef is browned and the onion is translucent (5-7 minutes).
  • Season with salt, black pepper, paprika, Italian seasoning, onion powder, and crushed red pepper flakes; stir to combine.
  • Add chopped pepperoni and cook for a few more minutes. Drain excess grease.
  • Mix in the marinara sauce and minced garlic; stir and remove from heat.
  • In a bowl, whisk together Bisquick, milk, and eggs until smooth.
  • Spray a pie pan with cooking spray.
  • Layer half of the meat mixture, followed by 1 cup of mozzarella cheese. Add the remaining meat mixture on top, then add the rest of the mozzarella.
  • Pour the Bisquick mixture over the filling evenly.

Cooking

  • Bake for about 25 minutes until golden brown and firm to the touch.
  • Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding sliced mushrooms or bell peppers, and experiment with different cheese varieties. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
