Preparation

  • Let the onions cool slightly.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix until smooth.
  • Fold in cooled caramelized onions.
  • Transfer to a serving bowl, and garnish with chives or parsley if desired.

Notes

Use a wide skillet for even heating and better caramelization. Stir the onions occasionally; let them sit to develop a good sear. Taste and adjust seasoning after combining base ingredients.
