  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the room-temperature butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Stir in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.

Baking

  • Drop tablespoon-sized scoops of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 9-11 minutes until the edges are golden brown and the centers remain soft.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Consider adding a pinch of cinnamon or instant espresso for extra flavor. Chilling the dough for 30 minutes before baking can enhance the texture. You can also use different types of chocolate chips or add nuts if desired.
