Instructions
 

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the chopped bell peppers and diced onion, sautéing for about 10 minutes until they are soft and slightly caramelized.
  • Add minced garlic, cooking for an additional minute until fragrant.
  • Add ground beef, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, and cook until it's browned, draining excess grease.
  • Stir in your choice of seasonings to coat the meat.
  • Mix in the tomato paste and allow it to cook for about 2 minutes.
  • Add the diced tomatoes, uncooked rice, beef bouillon, and water, mixing well.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil; then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes until the rice is tender.
  • Stir the mixture, sprinkle cheese on top, cover again, and let the cheese melt.
  • Serve hot, garnished with parsley if desired.

Notes

Prep ingredients ahead to speed up cooking. Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. Don't rush the sautéing step.
