Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter until creamy and bubbly. Stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until combined.
  • Gradually stir in the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips if desired.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.

Notes
