Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease your baking dish.
  • Rinse the cod fillets under cold water and pat them dry.
  • Lay the cod fillets in a single layer in the greased baking dish.

Making the Lemon Butter Mixture

  • In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, lemon juice, lemon zest, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Stir until well-blended.

Baking the Cod

  • Pour the lemon butter mixture evenly over the cod fillets.
  • Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 10-12 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 5-7 minutes until the cod is opaque and flakes easily.

Serving

  • Sprinkle the baked cod with chopped fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

For elevated flavor, consider adding more lemon zest or capers to the butter mixture. If you have leftovers, they can be used in salads or pasta.
