Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts juicy in every bite
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for searing
  • 1 cup chicken broth adds depth to the dish
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes for heat
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning for flavor
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream for a creamy sauce
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese for cheesy goodness
  • 8 oz penne pasta perfect for rich sauce
  • to taste as needed fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Season the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper.
  • In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat, then sear the chicken for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove chicken and let it rest.
  • In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  • Pour in the chicken broth, red pepper flakes, and Italian seasoning. Let simmer for about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese; continue stirring until the sauce thickens.
  • Return the seared chicken to the skillet and coat it with the sauce. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  • Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  • Serve the chicken atop the penne pasta, drizzled with sauce, and garnish with parsley.

Notes

Avoid overcooking the chicken in the skillet to keep it juicy. You can add more red pepper flakes for heat or substitute pasta as desired.
