  • ¼ cup beef broth Keeps your mushrooms moist and adds a luscious quality.
  • 1 tsp minced garlic Aromatic and flavorful, it elevates the mushroom sauté.
  • 1 tsp black pepper Provides a slight kick to complement the burger flavors.

For the burger patties

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20) The fat content keeps the burger juicy and flavorful.
  • 1 tbsp steak seasoning A perfect blend of spices for bold flavor.
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce A second round for optimal flavor in the beef.
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese Melts beautifully, adding creaminess and indulgence.
  • 4 pieces hamburger buns (brioche recommended) Their slight sweetness and soft texture pair wonderfully with the hearty burger.

Instructions

Sauté the mushrooms

  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the butter and olive oil. When the butter melts, add the sliced mushrooms along with 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce. Cook undisturbed for 5 minutes.
  • Pour in the beef broth and let it reduce completely over the next 8 to 10 minutes.
  • Add minced garlic and black pepper, sauté for another 3 to 4 minutes, then remove from heat.

Prepare the burger patties

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, steak seasoning, and an additional teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce. Mix gently and form into four 4-ounce patties.
  • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat and cook the patties for about 4 to 5 minutes on each side for medium doneness.
  • During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty to melt.
  • Toast the hamburger buns on the grill until lightly browned.
  • Let the patties rest for 3 to 5 minutes.

Assemble the burger

  • Place each patty inside a toasted bun, top with sautéed mushrooms and any additional toppings desired. Serve hot.

Notes

For the best results, allow the patties to rest after grilling to enhance moisture retention. Quality meat is important; choose beef with 80/20 fat content.
