Cooking Instructions

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the ground beef and diced onion. Cook and stir for about 6-8 minutes until browned and onions are translucent.
  • Season the mixture with salt, pepper, onion powder, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
  • Drain excess grease from the skillet.
  • Add minced garlic and Worcestershire sauce, stirring into the beef and onion mixture.
  • Pour in tomato sauce and diced tomatoes, mixing well.
  • Add beef broth and elbow macaroni, mixing thoroughly.
  • Toss in bay leaves, cover, and simmer for about 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove bay leaves, stir, and serve hot topped with cheddar cheese.

Notes

For added richness, use ground turkey or chicken. Allow the goulash to sit for a few minutes after cooking to meld flavors. Consider adding bell peppers or peas for extra veggies. For more spice, add hot sauce or red pepper flakes. Taste and adjust seasoning as desired.
