Instructions

Preparation

  • Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and green bell pepper, sautéing for 6-7 minutes until softened. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  • Remove the veggies from the skillet. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of butter along with the chopped Steak-Umm, seasoned with steak seasoning. Cook for 3-4 minutes until browned and crispy.
  • Drain any excess grease from the meat mixture and combine it with the sautéed vegetables. Set aside to cool completely.
  • Preheat your oven to 425°F. Roll out the pizza dough on parchment paper to a 12x15 inch rectangle.

Assembly

  • Layer the provolone cheese on the rolled-out dough, followed by the meat and vegetable mixture, and then the mozzarella cheese.
  • Roll the dough tightly into a log shape, sealing the seams. Place seam-side down on a baking sheet, brush the top with melted butter, and sprinkle with parsley and sesame seeds. Cut slits in the top of the roll.

Baking

  • Bake for about 20 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve with prepared au jus.

Notes

Ensure ingredients are at room temperature for even cooking. Sauté veggies just until tender for the best results. Experiment with whole wheat or gluten-free dough for a healthier option.
